The new issue of the ISLANDS Newsletter is now available!
Newsletter #6 brings together the latest updates and activities from the ISLANDS MSCA Doctoral Network, highlighting the progress of our Doctoral Candidates, recent training activities, conferences, demonstrations and dissemination initiatives.
In this issue, we look back at the Training on Standards and Patents, which provided the Doctoral Candidates with insights into standardisation processes, intellectual property and patenting practices. We also highlight the participation of ISLANDS researchers at IEEE SPAWC 2026 in Athens, where Doctoral Candidates presented their latest research on vehicular Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC).
The newsletter also features the 5G-NR ISAC demonstration presented at EuCNC & 6G Summit 2026 in Málaga, showcasing practical ISAC technologies based on sub-6 GHz 5G-NR, as well as updates from the Doctoral Candidates’ research activities, including Yuhao Zhang’s half-way seminar at Chalmers University of Technology and Ahmed Elloumi’s work presented at the ETSI ISAC Plenary Meeting in Bologna.
These activities reflect the ongoing research, training and knowledge exchange taking place across the ISLANDS network as we continue to explore the potential of ISAC technologies for future 6G wireless networks.
